Urban Fashion Trends For Summer 2013

Every day fashion is becoming more and more relevant in our lives. We are finding new ways to express ourselves and invest in our ideal appearance. After walking around the city the past few days I've observed some of the newest trends that are here to stay. One new trend in urban apparel is the use of bright and non-traditional colors in nearly all products. Clothing companies like Filthy Dripped, Mitchell and Ness and DGK have started to use neon green, yellow and pink in a lot of their t-shirt designs. Nike is using these colors on some of their retro inspired Air Max designs. Even watch companies like G-Shock have been using bright neon color styles in their products.Small accessories are also becoming very popular. Beaded necklaces, bracelets, sunglasses and belts are the most common. They are very inexpensive and add a nice finishing touch to your outfit. It's amazing what a difference a pair of sunglasses can make on your overall appearance.
There is also a growing obsession with vintage and retro clothing, specifically when it comes to sportswear. A lot of people are going back to wearing team shirts and jerseys, but the biggest new trend with sportswear is the popularity of snapback hats. They are the classic head piece that your parents probably wore when they went to see their favorite teams. Celebrities like Drake, Kanye West and Justin Bieber have been caught with vintage snapbacks recently. Other celebrities like Jay-Z and Lebron James have been seen wearing more traditional full back fitted sports hats. Retro sneakers are also coming back. Nike released an entire line of vintage inspired trainers and running shoes. Even high-fashion brands like Louis Vuitton and Armani are getting into this area of the market.
Another trend is the growing popularity of online shopping. Stores are having trouble keeping up with inventory and it's becoming a hassle to go from place to place to find each piece of an outfit. However, online urban clothing stores make it easy to put together a full outfit, from head to toe, with just a few clicks, not to mention how much cheaper it ends up being. Paying rent at a physical location is expensive, so the stores end up charging more for their products to make up the difference. Online stores have low overhead so they can sell everything at much lower prices, meaning Filthy Dripped Clothing deals, among other brands. A lot of online stores are also constantly having sales, and some even offer discounted shipping. Certain brands will also only sell their items to online retailers, so if you want to get the most exclusive urban apparel you'll need to order it online.
